WebMar 31, 2024 · The needle is jumping because your cable is (probably) fryed inside the cable casing, and lubing it will do nothing really. Its hanging on by a thread. A new cable is inexpensive and easy to replace, just unscrew it from the speedo gauge, trace it back to the transmission, unscrew it there and screw the new one in. good luck.
