You may want to do XD switch in order for robocopy to exclude the folder for scanning. If your folder is dated such as '2012-xx-xx .... 2014-xx-xx' you can't easily exclude them using xd. For example, roboycopy source dest /E /xd *2012* *2013* *2014-01* *2014-02*

Wildcards work as expected in the file specification. In your case, specifying the WHOLE filename should limit the operation to the single file.
