WebI didn't think that'd be any better but it appears to be working finally! So all my problems appear to have been resolved by changing USB ports. I guess the Keychron V1 is just really picky about USB ports. I don't know why neither of the motherboard USB slots work, but a USB dongle plugged into a motherboard USB does work...
