Bittorrent stuck on downloading metadata

WebJun 20, 2024 · I am having a weird issue with torrents on ubuntu 20.04. Whenever I try torrenting the torrent gets stuck at "loading metadata from 0 peers". I tried adding more trackers, forwarded the port set in my torrent client through my router (checked and the ports where open), changed network adapter and messed with proxy settings (Including … Web1) Stop then Start all torrents 2) Exit uTorrent 3) Open Terminal and execute the following command (enter your password): cd "~/Library/Application Support/uTorrent" && sudo rm -f *.old... This will delete all .old files. 4) Open uTorrent and you're good to go. Windows (untested) 1) Stop then Start all torrents 2) Exit uTorrent

WebJan 10, 2024 · qBittorrent won't download torrents, it will get stuck on downloading metadata or "stalled" when using a http proxy (it works for other torrent clients just fine) What is the expected behavior. qBittorrent will work and route the connection through the http proxy. I'm not sure it's the same for you but my solution was pretty simple. When you open the .torrent file and it asks you for a directory, make sure you wait for it to load all the files in the window before clicking the OK button. It might not be the same for you but worth a shot.

Pasting the URL of magnet link didn't work for me but installing the QT version did. I had the same issue. Clean installed Windows 1809 then torrenting would be stuck downloading the meta data.
